Rebecca is a creative communications professional with experience spanning editorial, public relations, broadcast journalism, and marketing across the San Diego, New York City, and Sacramento areas. She holds a bachelor’s degree in multimedia journalism and public relations from Point Loma Nazarene University.
At CMTA, Rebecca contributes to the association’s communications efforts and oversees its signature events, driving both digital and in-person engagement to amplify CMTA’s voice across California and beyond. She joined CMTA in February 2025 as Communications Director and was promoted to Senior Director of Communications & Events in May 2026.
Prior to CMTA, Rebecca worked in broadcast media at Sacramento’s ABC affiliate, where she helped expand local marketing initiatives and deepen community engagement. She led outreach efforts for station-wide fundraising campaigns supporting nonprofits focused on food insecurity and youth development. Before that, she spent two years leading social media strategy and content creation for the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce, where she organically grew the organization’s digital audience by thousands. During her time there, she also supported external communications and marketing for public policy initiatives, inclusive economic development programs, and large-scale events, including helping launch the inaugural AAPI Night Market in Downtown Sacramento.
Outside the office, you’ll find Rebecca painting new projects, hosting gatherings for her friends, and exploring new local restaurants.
