“We are looking forward to partnering with the California Manufacturers & Technology Association to promote a strong business climate in California,” said Scott Frederick, Manager Quality Assurance, Siemens Mobility Rolling Stock. “We have been manufacturing in Sacramento for more than 30 years and now employ more than 2,400 skilled workers at our 60-acre complex. Our workforce is diverse, our factory is green, and we keep our customers moving in an environmentally friendly way – rolling more than 3,000 passenger vehicles out our doors!”
Siemens Mobility Rolling Stock facility produces rail vehicles, locomotives, components, and systems for more than 30 transportation operators around the country. Over the past ten years, Siemens has invested over $100 million into the Sacramento plant and thus adding hundreds of jobs.
In California alone, the plant has manufactured locomotives for Caltrans and light rail trains for San Francisco, Sacramento, and San Diego. They also have a national supply chain that has ensured total compliance with Buy-America requirements, which allows them to continue providing quality transportation solutions to their customers.
“The impact of what Siemens Mobility is creating in Sacramento can be seen throughout the world, and the company’s footprint is only growing,” said Lance Hastings, President and CEO of CMTA. “The company’s commitment in Sacramento has proven to be an economic engine. The company provides thousands of jobs and has a clear vision and dedication to the future of manufacturing. We cannot be more thrilled to welcome Siemens Mobility to CMTA. As a global leader and innovator in transport solutions, Siemens Mobility will be a valuable addition to our organization.”
