Greta Serrin is the communications director for the California Manufacturers & Technology Association (CMTA), assuming the role in December 2022. Greta is passionate about the storytelling of California’s makers and showcasing the world’s most innovative companies in the Golden State through her work.
Greta manages the social media strategy, executes major campaigns and events marketing for the association, and produces engaging content for all digital platforms, all while leveraging analytics to optimize results. Greta has played a key role in launching and executing the association’s annual contest, the “Coolest Thing Made in California,” which has earned over $1.3 million in publicity in two years.
In this role, she has helped the association win multiple Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) awards, being honored for the association’s digital site and social media campaigns.
Previously to her role, Greta spent years in the journalism industry, serving as a digital producer for the #1 television station in Sacramento – KCRA 3 News. Prior to that, she served as a newscast producer for Sacramento’s FOX40 News and Missouri’s NBC affiliate KOMU 8 News. Greta’s work at KOMU 8 helped the digital team win an Edward R. Murrow Multimedia Small Market Television award for the region in 2019.
Greta graduated from one of the leading universities in journalism, the University of Missouri – Columbia, with a bachelor’s degree in Convergence Emerging Media. During her undergrad, she dipped her hands in several newsrooms, including NPR affiliate KBIA-FM and Missouri’s Politifact.
In her spare time, she enjoys working in her garden, cuddling with her cats, Boba and Sherbert, and exploring the beauty of Northern California.
