Dec 21, 2023

Sacramento, Calif. – The California Manufacturers & Technology Association (CMTA) announced the welcome of Fisher Phillips to its associate membership today.

“As CMTA’s government relations team fights for our manufacturers in California’s State Capitol, regulations on the factory floor change with the new laws every year. We look forward to aiding our manufacturing base with our new associate member, Fisher Phillips, as they keep our manufacturers up to date on workplace policies,” said CMTA’s CEO & President, Lance Hastings.

Fisher Phillips’ multidisciplinary Manufacturing Industry Team helps employers navigate challenges while foreseeing and maximizing opportunities.

“Businesses in California need forward-looking attorneys to help retain a qualified workforce, create sound strategic plans to remain competitive in the marketplace, and comply with applicable laws in the places they do business – and the manufacturing industry is no exception,” said Colin Calvert, partner at Fisher Phillips and co-chair of the firm’s Manufacturing Industry Team. “We are thrilled to partner with the CMTA to help manufacturing employers navigate and keep ahead of the rapidly-changing laws that govern the state’s workplaces. Through our partnership, we aim to serve CMTA’s members as a key resource in creating thoughtful workplace policies that address today’s challenges and opportunities within the manufacturing industry.”

The firm’s attorneys have both deep subject matter knowledge in key areas of employment law and practical experience working on-site with manufacturing clients. From increasing safety and efficiency in the workplace to managing immigration matters and advising on emerging labor relations issues, Fisher Phillips’ Manufacturing Team becomes a true business partner so employers can keep on innovating and delivering value to customers across the country.

About CMTA

The California Manufacturers & Technology Association has advocated for pro-growth laws and regulations before the California legislature and administrative agencies since 1918. The total output from manufacturing in California is $300 billion per year, roughly 10 percent of the total economic output of the state. Manufacturers employ 1.3 million Californians paying wages more than $25,000 higher than other non-farm employers in the state. For more information, visit CMTA’s website.
