Exciting New Addition to CMTA Advocacy Team

Dec. 9, 2019 Sacramento, CA-- The California Manufacturers & Technology Association is proud to announce today the hiring of Lawrence Gayden as its new Legislative Manager.

Lawrence comes to CMTA from Political Solutions – a lobbying firm in Sacramento – where he got his first start in California politics and policy after graduating from California State University, Sacramento earlier this year.

"We are building our advocacy team at CMTA to match the energy of California’s manufacturers,” said CMTA President Lance Hastings. “Lawrence brings an exuberance to the Association that is palpable. I actually discovered Lawrence at a recent Future of Work Commission meeting where I was very impressed by his testimony on the need for career technical education. His passion, alacrity and great character will be a great addition to the CMTA team.”

As a Legislative Manager, Lawrence will research, create and guide foundations for CMTA's "Making California" legislative agenda. Lawrence will spend a good part of his first few months at CMTA touring manufacturers, talking with CMTA members and preparing issues briefs for the Association’s broad spectrum of policy areas impacting manufacturers.

"We are so excited to have Lawrence on board at CMTA," said Hastings. "Trade Association work requires the perfect mix of energy, work ethic, and smarts. Lawrence brings all of that to the team and gives us great hope for success on CMTA’s growing plate of manufacturing issues for 2020 and beyond."
