Manufacturers welcome environmental policy lobbyist to government relations team

 Feb. 6, 2017

Sacramento, CA -- Today Shaina Brown (pictured below) is joining the California Manufacturers & Technology Association as a Policy Director.  Brown will advocate on a variety of legislative and regulatory issues important to manufacturers, with an emphasis on environmental policies.

Brown has broad experience in both policy advocacy and public affairs, working for the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault, the California Council of Land Trusts, California Strategies, and Cleantech San Diego. Brown was also a Climate Fellow in early 2009 conducting greenhouse gas inventories for the cities of Solana Beach and Encinitas.

"We are pleased that Shaina is joining the CMTA team of lobbyists,” said CMTA President Dorothy Rothrock. “From coalition building to negotiations to strategic communications, she brings the skills and experience we need to effectively advocate for manufacturers in the State."

Brown graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2009.

Brown replaces Mike Rogge who retired in 2016 after 13 years with the Association.
