Manufacturing leader issues statement on California budget proposal

Aug. 30, 2010 Sacramento, CA -- Today, the California Manufacturers & Technology Association president, Jack M. Stewart, issued the following statement on the budget vote scheduled for the floor tomorrow in the Legislature.

"Two months after the Constitutional deadline to pass a budget, the legislature has still failed to bring any substantive solution to California’s ongoing budget problem. The vote called for tomorrow on the legislature’s final day of session will accomplish nothing, and California employers will continue to suffer job-killing uncertainty. This is classic California legislative wheel-spinning. We implore our state leaders to come together and find a real solution aimed at not only closing the current budget deficit, but putting California on the path to greater stability and long-term economic growth."
