Manufacturing leader comments on Gov. Schwarzenegger's renewable power veto and executive order

Sept. 15, 2009 The California Manufacturers & Technology Association president, Jack M. Stewart, made the following media statement today regarding the Governor's Executive Order on the state's renewable power sources:
"We applaud Governor Schwarzenegger's rejection of the costly and misguided renewable generation bills. Higher energy costs for manufacturers will threaten our economic recovery. It is vital that we keep special interests from hurting our ambitious plans to expand renewables and reduce greenhouse gases in a sensible and cost-effective manner. We thank the Governor for his Executive Order directing agencies to expand renewables under existing authority and improve the environment in a way that protects jobs and grows the economy."
