Gov. Newsom’s Curfew and ManufacturingBy CMTA Staff |
In light of an unprecedented spike in the State’s COVID-19 cases, Governor Newsom and the California Department of Public Health have issued a limited Stay-At-Home order. To reduce opportunities of COVID-19 transmission, all non-essential businesses and gatherings must stop between 10:00pm and 5:00am. The month-long curfew is set to take effect November 21st and will apply to all counties in the top or “Purple” tier of state restrictions (currently 41 of 58 Counties). Despite the stay at home order, the manufacturing community in California is remaining firm and steadfast in its operations as an essential part of the state’s critical infrastructure. If your manufacturing facilities are 24-hour operations and are essential under the previous guidelines, then you can continue to operate unless you hear otherwise. CMTA is seeking guidance and clarification and will notify you immediately if anything changes. We are also contacting the Sheriffs’ Association to better understand their role in this. |
