Capitol Update, March 7, 2008

The California Commission on Health and Safety and Workers’ Compensation released its February 2008 report detailing the department's findings on occupational injuries, deaths and illnesses.  The study collected and analyzed data from various ethnicities, age groups and occupational categories from transportation to education.  The reason behind studying such trends is the belief that knowledge in this area is beneficial for both employee and employer.

The focus of the study was on the prevention, education and reduction of work related injuries, fatalities and illnesses.  Details about inspection and violation practices were explained.
