Sacramento, Calif. –The California Manufacturers & Technology Association (CMTA) welcomed the metal recycling and processing company, SA Recycling, to the organization today.
SA Recycling has grown from a small scrap yard to coast-to-coast operations with some 130 facilities. With about 3,500 employees, SA Recycling is a full-service scrap metal recycler headquartered in Southern California. It has been recognized as a world leader in the metal recycling and processing industry, with the largest network of scrap metal recycling facilities.
“When looking out towards the water in San Pedro, prominent in the skyline are docks and container terminals. Little would you know that there is a metal recycling plant that crunches down steel, aluminum, copper, tin, appliances, old cars, cans, and many other types of scrap metal to be reused again,” said Lance Hastings, CEO & President of CMTA. “We look forward to working with the company as the country’s environmental landscape changes just as fast as SA Recycling can shred an old car.”
SA Recycling started as a family-run business that has grown through acquisition and the ability to diversify operations as the industry changes.
“The recycling industry is changing at a speed-of-light pace. Here at SA Recycling, our employees are our greatest resource and we depend on our employees to keep us competitive. Now, CMTA is also one of our greatest resources,” said George Adams, CEO of SA Recycling. “We look forward to our partnership with the state’s manufacturing association as we look forward to the future of recycling in California.”
Metal recycling reduces pollutants, eliminates significant manufacturing and mining waste, and contributes to an overall greener planet. SA Recycling focuses on ensuring the entire recycling process is clean and efficient and is a leader in environmental stewardship. The metal recycler participates in dozens of California programs to limit greenhouse gas emissions, reduce reliance on the power grid, and eliminate stormwater contamination. SA Recycling serves as a model for industry standards in its stormwater and air pollution prevention programs.
