Manufacturers take positions on ballot propositions and urge California to Vote Manufacturing
Oct. 18, 2016 Sacramento, CA -- The California Manufacturers & Technology Association announced today final positions for many of November's ballot measures. CMTA's president Dorothy Rothrock made the following statement regarding the ballot measures:
"CMTA's positions on the statewide ballot measures reflect our views about how each measure will either help or hurt our goal to encourage manufacturers to make long term investments and create jobs in California. We hope voters will support manufacturers by making thoughtful decisions at the ballot box to create a predictable and affordable business climate."
Prop 53 -- Oppose -- Revenue Bonds. Statewide Voter Approval. Initiative Constitutional Amendment.
Prop 54 -- Support -- Legislature. Legislation and Proceedings. Initiative Constitutional Amendment and Statute.
Prop 55 -- Oppose -- Tax Extension to Fund Education and Healthcare. Initiative Constitutional Amendment.
Prop 56 -- Oppose -- Cigarette Tax to Fund Healthcare, Tobacco Use Prevention, Research, and Law Enforcement. Initiative Constitutional Amendment and Statute.
