CMTA Vote Record marks legislative support for CA manufacturers
Dec. 3, 2015 Sacramento, CA -- Today the California Manufacturers & Technology Association (CMTA) released its 2015 Manufacturing Vote Record for the state's 120 legislators. It identifies action taken on the 11 most important manufacturing floor votes in the Assembly and 13 in the Senate.
You can download the 2015 CMTA Vote Record here, showing that 47 legislators, including democrats and republicans, support California manufacturers more than half the time.
CMTA commends all the legislators that showed strong support for California manufacturers in their votes. Manufacturers are the backbone of California's economy providing high wage jobs and a tremendous multiplier impact that adds many jobs in other sectors.
"I know that lawmakers appreciate the contributions manufacturers make to the communities they represent," said CMTA President Dorothy Rothrock. "We thank those who demonstrated through their votes that manufacturers should be a growing and vibrant part of California's future. I hope all legislators will learn more about the challenges faced by manufacturers and support policies to improve the business climate in 2016 and beyond."
CMTA notes that there were many important manufacturing votes, on the floor and in policy committees, not included in this analysis. The bills included in the Vote Record represent the industry priority bills that received one or more floor votes during the year.
