CMTA ushers in new lobbyist
March 10, 2008 Sacramento, CA -- The California Manufacturers & Technology Association (CMTA) announced Greg Hines this week as its new lobbyist to handle tax, education and corporate counsel bills.
Since 2006, Hines was Government Affairs Director for the California Association of Mortgage Brokers, directing all advocacy-related activities at the state and federal level. From 2000 to 2006, Hines worked for Solectron, an $11 billion Fortune 250 company, as a Senior Manager for Corporate and Government Affairs.
"Greg's experience working for a major manufacturer on business development issues makes him a perfect fit for CMTA,” said CMTA's Dorothy Rothrock, VP of Government Affairs, “He’s learned first hand about the competitive challenges manufacturers face in the state and he’ll be an effective advocate for our members."
Hines received his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science in 1996 from the University of Oregon.
Hines replaces CMTA's former lobbyist, Matt Sutton, who now leads the California Restaurant Association's advocacy efforts.
