ADVISORY: Get REAL to present white paper on the narrowing of educational choices at Governor’s Career Technical Education Summit


 March 12, 2007 SACRAMENTO — Members of GET REAL (Relevance in Education and Learning), a new coalition of business, public safety, labor and teachers committed to increasing career opportunities for students whether they plan attend college or not, will present its White Paper at the Governor’s Career Technical Education Summit tomorrow at Ace Clearwater Enterprises in Torrance. The White Paper addresses the loss of opportunity for students to take vocational courses in California’s public schools and makes specific recommendations to reverse the trend.

GET REAL members participating in the Summit include State Building and Construction Trades Council (SBCTC) President Robert Balgenorth and Legislative Advocate Cesar Diaz; and California Manufacturers and Technology Association (CMTA) President Jack Stewart and Legislative Advocate Dorothy Rothrock.
