Manufacturers president comments on reported increased return-to-work rates

Jan. 31, 2007 CMTA President Jack M. Stewart commented today on the Division of Workers' Compensation's recent report that says return-to-work rates have increased by 5 percent:

"The return-to-work data released by the Division of Workers' Compensation today is encouraging and indicates that the reforms are working for the benefit of both employees and employers by speeding up medical treatment and more quickly returning employees to work. The reforms were intended to create a fair system that focuses on providing appropriate medical treatment in a timely fashion and return to work, which in fact helps injured workers by reducing the negative impact of their injury. As we get more data over time, we will be able to draw more conclusions about the full impact of SB 899."
