Opportunity to sign on to support the extension of the sales tax for manufacturing and R&D equipment
By Michael Shaw, VP, Government Relations
One of the top issues on CMTA’s 2017 Grow Manufacturing Agenda is extension of the Sales & Use Tax Exemption (STE) for Manufacturing and Research & Development equipment. We are cosponsoring a pair of bills, SB 600 by Senator Cathleen Galgiani (D-Stockton) and AB 600 Assemblymember Jim Cooper (D-Elk Grove) to extend and improve these equipment purchases to enhance this significant investment incentive tool. Both bills highlight the importance of manufacturing and R&D investments in California, including green energy, biotech, food processing, and wine production along with advanced manufacturing and other sectors of the industry.
We are happy to announce our coalition letter (see pdf) for manufacturers to sign onto and help build the single strong voice for continuing this important investment incentive.
Please email Loretta Macktal with your logo and permission to join this letter by Noon, Wednesday, April 12, to be included. We are looking to build this letter into a large coalition.
Join with CMTA to extend the STE now and provide greater usefulness and certainty for the future of manufacturing in California.
